A creative community
and earth school

Green Girl Crafts is a creative community and earth school for the curious, founded by environmentalist and author Leah Thomas. Rooted in the belief that making things by hand can bring us closer to the earth and to one another, it’s a place to gather, learn, experiment and create.

Primarily based in Los Angeles, CA with pop-ups and collaborations elsewhere, Green Girl Crafts has welcomed thousands of guests into workshops, field trips and gatherings that blend ecological education with hands on making. Exploring natural dyes, florals, fermentation, printmaking, textiles and objects made slowly by hand.

Alongside our community programming, Green Girl Crafts creates custom workshops, activations and experiences for brands, cultural institutions, schools and organizations.

Whether you’re joining us for a workshop or inviting Green Girl Crafts into your own community, each experience is an invitation to follow your curiosity, learn from the natural world, make something beautiful and spend a little more time in wonder.

Earth School of Craft and Ecology - November

November 22, 2026 · Arlington Garden in Pasadena · Field

A Day of Learning + Connection

October 4, 2026 · 9:45 AM–3:00 PM Arlington Garden · Pasadena, California

Come spend a day outside, learning from plants, artists, educators, and one another.

Earth School of Craft and Ecology is an invitation to slow down and reconnect with the land around us, our own creativity, and our community. Throughout the day, we’ll gather in the garden for conversations, sound, mindful moments, hands-on workshops, and shared learning, exploring different ways of being in relationship with the Earth.

A DAY TO LEARN, MAKE + CONNECT

Join us for a day of grounding conversations, sound healing, natural dyeing, mycology, herbalism, and radical imagination. Together, we’ll explore our relationships with the natural world and with one another through thoughtful discussion, creative practice, and time spent outdoors.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Grounding Conversations + Mindfulness Join Ary Sanchez-Amaya for a grounding fireside chat, and a mindful moment with Jo Little to slow down, listen, and reconnect with ourselves and our surroundings.

Sound Bath + Grounding Experience a sound bath with Allie Brown and settle into the day through sound and stillness.

Natural Dyeing Explore plants, color, and textiles through a hands-on natural dye workshop with Moon Bunny, followed by a reveal and time to finish your creations.

Mycology + Plant Relationships Join Aaron Tupac for a fireside chat exploring the fascinating world of fungi and the ecosystems we are part of.

Herbalism Learn about herbalism with Allie Brown and create your own healing oil blend to take home.

Community + Radical Imagination Gather beneath the trees, share a meal, reflect during the Hands in the Soil fireside chat, and explore more hopeful futures with Better Futures Club.
