A creative community
and earth school

Green Girl Crafts is a creative community and earth school for the curious, founded by environmentalist and author Leah Thomas. Rooted in the belief that making things by hand can bring us closer to the earth and to one another, it’s a place to gather, learn, experiment and create.

Primarily based in Los Angeles, CA with pop-ups and collaborations elsewhere, Green Girl Crafts has welcomed thousands of guests into workshops, field trips and gatherings that blend ecological education with hands on making. Exploring natural dyes, florals, fermentation, printmaking, textiles and objects made slowly by hand.

Alongside our community programming, Green Girl Crafts creates custom workshops, activations and experiences for brands, cultural institutions, schools and organizations.

Whether you’re joining us for a workshop or inviting Green Girl Crafts into your own community, each experience is an invitation to follow your curiosity, learn from the natural world, make something beautiful and spend a little more time in wonder.

Cyanotype + Anthotype Workshop

February 21, 2026 · Arlington Garden, Pasadena · Prints

Join us at Arlington Garden for a hands on cyanotype + anthotype workshop, where we explore the art of alternative printing using plants, natural pigments, and the power of the sun.

Together, we’ll experiment with turmeric, cyanotype chemistry, and other botanical materials to create sun printed works that capture light, shadow, and the beauty of the natural world. Each piece will be one of a kind, shaped by time, texture, and sunlight.

This workshop welcomes all skill levels. Just bring your curiosity, patience, and love for nature. Come slow down, learn something new, and create alongside community in the garden.
